Amazing and rare piece, probably the first wall pocket design created by Roseville Pottery. This 9.25″ t. x 9″ x 2″ Matt Green beauty has a mottled glaze that makes many Roseville lovers refer to it as Chloron. The shape number is the first applied to any wall pocket, and an image of it appears in a c. 1905-1906 catalog page. Because of the subject matter and depiction, it might appeal equally to nudists, feminists, Wiccans, or collectors of Art Nouveau or Arts and Crafts.
Roseville Witch Wall Pocket
Excellent condition. Ohio buyers must pay 8% sales tax.
Note the unusual depth of the piece, which was possible only by using architectural supports down inside the wall vase. Study the photos for details of the form and glaze.
